Xela has hundreds of statues. The one on the photograph is located in front of the Municipal Theater (14 av. z 1). Other locations like the Central Park, the Benito Juarez park, Parque Bolivar. The most important and beautiful ones are located on the Cementery, but many bad people have cut heads and another parts of the statues for sale. You need to take a photo-walk, because in few years time there want be left anymore.

After the fair was held in “Cerro El Baul” for many years it was re located to “La Ciénaga” Neighborhood in zone 2. You can see  a chest figure of Justo Rufino Barrios, that was then transferred to “El Calvario” and is currently in the Municipal Police Office.

One of the oldest bridges of Quetzaltenango “Bridge the Chocoyos” was threatened by the big trucks, but now we see these metal tubes protecting it, that’s fine.

Uno de los puentes mas antiguos de Quetzaltenango “Puente los Chocoyos” estaba en peligro por los grandes camiones, pero ahora vemos estos tubos de metal protegiendolo, eso esta muy bien.

Many people take pictures of Central Park, the kiosk or other places but had not really seen a picture with this perspective and within this garden, a small detail, throughout the park can find all kinds of heads of this kind, we could make a section with “Heads of Central Park” and the history of each one, you know who is the person who represents this head?

Muchas personas toman fotos del parque central, del kiosco u otros lugares pero realmente no había visto una foto con esta perspectiva y dentro de este jardín, un pequeño detalle, por todo el parque podemos encontrar todo tipo de cabezas de este tipo, podríamos hacer una seccion con “Cabezas del Parque Central” y la historia de cada una, ¿Sabes quien es la persona que representa esta cabeza?

This monument was carved in 1.941 and is in honor of Justo Rufino Barrios, one of the most important details is that measures 15 feet high, on the front is the figure of Justo Rufino Barrios.
