State of Disrepair

State of Disrepair by Luna McCarthy

Many comments have been made regarding Xela’s (and the country’s) beautiful architecture. One thing that is common around the world is that previously beautiful buildings stand in states of abandonment and disregard. This is not a unique problem to only Xela, but when I see them, it puts me in both a state of wonder (what did the building used to be/who used to live there?) and in a state of sadness (they would be SO gorgeous if they were to be repaired, rebuilt or reconstructed).

  1. But they are beautiful in how nature and human nature have meshed. I especially love earthquake damage and flowers together.
