In Xela, night after night dance follows music. After the big concert at Central Park on Friday night, last night, there was a break dance/hip-hop battle near Plaza Ciani. The dancers were from all over Guatemala. I couldn’t wait until the end of the battle, because of the cold weather (again). But as far as I saw, the whole thing was really cool and especially the message that they were trying to spread was important. The point was to emphasize the generational differences yet the uniformity among youth. I wish the participation of Xela folks was greater, though.
I shot usual break dance scenes, too. But these little details seemed more interesting to me. What do you think?
